Audi Coupe GT, Coupe Quattro, and 80/90 breather/vacuum hoses

The breather and vauum hoses on the KV engine suffer with time, the breather hoses perish and get clogged with oil, carbon, etc. cartier replica The vacuum hoses get brittle and crack. This causes poor performance and fuel consumption. The solution is to replace them all.. rolex replica The vacuum hose is easily done, you just buy a few meters from Audi, and cut it to length to match the existing hoses. rolex replica sale The moulded breather hoses can be cleaned out with various solvents, I think that I used Flash on mine....Replace any jubilee clips with stainless steel items to make life easier the next time around that you do this

I've added some photos and excerts from TFA to give you an idea what to do.

Once you get the large rubber intake boot off, you have access to a lot of these hoses..

The Idle Stabilisation valve or ISV needs to be cleaned out with carburetor cleaner. It may be clean, partially blocked, or solid with cack....
There are several of these skinny vaccum hoses in this area, just cut a length of the right hose to the correct length and replace.
The breather hoses need to be removed, and cleaned inside and outside.
There is a very small hole in the 4 way rubber moulding plastic insert. Make sure that that is cleaned out. The 4 way connects onto the stub pipe on top of the rocker cover. That also may need cleaning out. In fact, if you have all this apart, why not remove the rocker cover, give it a good cleaning out. Then de-rust it and repaint it.......
Another well hidden breather hose
Running down the block from the 4 way rubber moulding, there is a steel breather pipe. This too will need cleaning out. You may also want to change the short length of rubber pipe at it's bottom end.
This valve could also do with cleaning
